What I have learned about Action Research and how I might be able to use it.

I've learned that action research is a reflective process tool utilized to help develop a plan of action to transform a school, their thinking, and help solve school problems.  First begin by defining a problem to be researched based on analyzing what needs you or your organization has.  Next collect data that pertains to the specific problem and seek out literature about that problem.  Then analyze the literature and data collected in order to make a decision on what action or actions are needed to resolve the problem.  In this process you can create a plan of action for resolving the issue and how you will evaluate the progress of the plan.
Action research is an act of reflection that has been created and fueled by the administrators it is a tool used by the administrator as well as colleagues. A strong leader will always find time to analyze and evaluate the activities on his/her campus by creating scheduled meetings for reflection and staff development among their team members. To be an effective leader you must continue to grow and strengthen your skills as the world of education continues to evolve.  Every staff member in a school district must become effective leaders within the organization.
